this has been bothering me:
People rag on Twilight like there’s no tomorrow, but does anyone talk about how Bill Compton is equally as possessive of and abusive towards Sookie Statckhouse as Edward is to Bella? NO. WHY THE HELL NOT?
Read the Sookie books, dont just watch the show (cause it sucks ass and the only thing it seems to have in common with the books is the names of the characters…). But really. Read the Sookie books. I promise you, by the second book you will be side eyeing the ever loving fuck outta Bill.
The most significant difference between Bella and Sookie is how they handle their vampy bfs. Sookie at a couple of points tells Bill to fuck himself. She is painfully (and annoyingly) loyal to him, even when they are broken up. But at least she was able to function without him.
I dont know. The lack of critique of Bill really bothers me. He’s just an older Edward but it’s okay for him to be verbally and emotionally abusive, possessive and a rapist. Yeah. You heard me. A rapist.
